Unit: Resource Mobilization and Organizational Development

Nature of Contract: Fixed-term contract (12 months)

Reporting to: Executive Director

Duration: December 1, 2024 to – November 30, 2025

About Us

The Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting survivors of acid attacks and preventing acid violence. Founded in 1999, over the years, the organization established itself as a specialized one-stop-service centre dedicated to the needs of acid survivors and advocacy for the elimination of acid violence. Utilizing a homegrown bio-psycho-social model, ASF offers comprehensive support services free of cost to acid survivors, including medical treatment, psychological counselling, legal assistance, empowerment initiatives, awareness campaigns, advocacy, and research. In this journey, it has engaged the government, relevant national and international NGOs, media, civil society forces, the private sector, donors, and acid survivors.

 

Job Summary

The Fundraising Manager will play a vital role in securing funding to support the organization’s mission. S/he will develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, manage donor relations, and coordinate campaigns and events. The successful candidate will bring a mix of creativity, organization, and relationship-building skills, with a passion for advancing the goals of the organization.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Fundraising Strategy, Planning, and Developing Proposals to Secure Funding Support 

  • Develop and implement fundraising plans aligned with the organization’s mission and financial goals.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities through research, networking, and outreach.
  • Create tailored campaigns (online, in-person, and hybrid) for various institutional donors, including individual, corporate, foundation donors and the Government of Bangladesh.
  • Develop quarterly at least one funding proposal/grant application to support ASF’s mission, objectives and to achieve financial goals.
  • Develop concept papers and funding requests to secure support from various sources

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing donors, sponsors, and partners
  • Ensure timely acknowledgments and reporting to donors, including impact reports that demonstrate the difference their contributions make.
  • Maintain information on different funding sources in one data file that ASF receives from different types of donors; and advice on innovative structuring, events and monitoring donations.

Campaign Management

  • Plan and execute fundraising events, donation drives, online giving campaigns, and other initiatives.
  • Create compelling fundraising materials (brochures, emails, social media posts, etc.).
  • Track and analyze the performance of fundraising activities, adjust strategies for optimal results in alignments with programmatic targets.

Reporting

  • Open a resource mobilization data-file and regular update and maintain records and statistics on donors and donations.
  • Analyze and prepare reports on fundraising progress, highlighting successes, areas for improvements, and future projections.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure alignment of donations with financial reporting and compliance standards.
  • Assist ED to make presentations for donors, and stakeholders on fund raising activities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or nonprofit development (experience in non-profit or NGO preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, showing initiative and leadership.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed, for events, grants applications, and reporting.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of grant writing and proposal development.
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media campaigns.

Salary: Monthly gross salary Taka 100,000 (One lac) only including Tax

TRAINEE OFFICER – LEGAL

Job Context

To provide legal support to all acid burn victims, Acid Survivors Foundation needs a full time Trainee Jr. Program Officer-Legal

 Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Incident and burn violence-related information collection
  • Preserve notified case information through format
  • Referral linkage with LAG partners and Partner Organization
  • Follow up with Acid Case Monitoring Cell, PHQ, IO, Local Thana, PP, District legal Aid offices, PNGOs, and legal aid providers
  • Communicate with victims and their families/relatives and extend required cooperation and support
  • To prepare and regular update survivors individual case file
  • Assist to supervisor to input incident and legal related data in a format/MIS
  • Case-related data analysis, find out the legal gap, challenges and possible way of solution
  • Communication with DACC, NACC, court, acid crime case monitoring cell, Advocates, Police, PP, APP for case purpose
  • Advocacy/lobby in high court for ongoing cases
  • Networking with survivors in community level
  • Communication with Internal, external human rights based organizations
  • Inform to Thana for legal assistance and ensure security
  • Legal advice to victim and their family members/relatives
  • Discourage victims and relatives not to compromise or withdrawal of cases
  • Coordinate court appearance, when and where required
  • Fact findings of the special burn violence cases
  • To develop case story, lesson learned and challenges according to the legal aspect
  • Assist in gap analysis, need assessment, concept note writing and project development work etc.
  • Prepare work plan weekly, monthly & implement accordingly
  • Prepare quarterly and periodical narrative reports
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor

Medical Officer

Job Context:

Acid Survivors Foundation has a twenty bedded specialized burn care hospital to run this hospital smoothly we need a dedicated and potential Medical Officer.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out initial assessment of all patients brought to ASF attention & resuscitate them according to their condition.
  • Ensure that all ASF registered patients are getting appropriate treatment as required individually.
  • Ensuring proper diet and dressing for the patient.
  • Consulting with respective consultant surgeons regularly & follow up of patient.
  • Ensure comprehensive services for the patients.
  • Prompt management of any emergencies when arises.
  • Select and prepare patient for operation.
  • Making operation plan for patient, coordinate and arrange surgery accordingly.
  • Assist the consultant surgeons during surgeries.
  • Provide pre and postoperative care to patients with regular follow up.
  • Ensure screening of old patients & perform reconstructive surgeries as required.
  • Maintain & update of all medical records for individual patient including surgery notes and anesthetic records.
  • Ensure photo documentation & record keeping of proper photography of individual patients.
  • Prepare Case Study for medical purpose.
  • Regular update of patient’s records in MIS is mandatory.
  • Supervise regular update of medicine stock & submission of requisition to get approval from Medical Manager for procurement of medicines, instruments and other accessories of Jibon Tara Hospital.
  • Regular keep informing the supervisor about medicine, instruments & clinical progress of patients.
  • Supervise physiotherapists & patient’s progress accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Social Workers, Counselors, and Psychotherapists & Physiotherapists during patient’s discharge planning.
  • Coordinating with consultants & doctors of DMCH and other hospitals to facilitate the treatment.
  • Attend foreign and local visitors.
  • Assist the Medical Manager to improve medical services to the patients.
  • Issuing Medical Certificates to the patients.
  • Appear court witness frequently in different districts of Bangladesh.
  • Field visit when necessary.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Psychotherapist

Job Context:

To provide psychological support to all admitted patients of ASF, survivors, and other organizations, Acid Survivors Foundation needs a full-time Psychologist.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological support to resolve issues such as depression, addiction, anxiety, phobia, PTSD and obsession, and other psychological and social distress, etc.;
  • Provide technical support to develop guidelines for sessions for Men and Boys;
  • Closely follow up and monitoring of the client’s/ survivor’s progress and keep a record of behavioral development;
  • Provide individual/ group counseling/ therapy; arrange art, music, and relaxation sessions for the survivors/patients of ASF hospitals and other govt. institutes (VSC, field level, and other sadar hospitals);
  • Helping survivors to adjust and manage the negative effects associated with certain violence/ traumatic experiences;
  • Coordinate/oversee the relevant activities and training of other psychologists, peer counselors and caregivers to ensure that they maintain the counseling and psychotherapy standards;
  • Prepare monthly reports and successful case studies;
  • Attend morning sadar hospital round session along with other multidisciplinary professionals;
  • Keep patient’s records updated and prepare monthly progress reports;
  • Ensure that the ASF MIS is updated in relevant fields;
  • Need to develop case stories based on learned lessons and challenges;
  • Based in Dhaka but a necessary field visit will be required.

IT Support:

  • Troubleshooting- PC, Laptop- Hardware & Software
  • Ensure smooth operation of ASF IT functions in a cost-effective manner

Job Context:The overall job purpose is to contribute to the Finance and Accounts system having responsible for maintaining regular accounts of ASF, prepare all accounts related documentations, to obtain project-specific permissions, verifying vouchers, data entry in accounting software and preparing financial statement thus leading to the sustainability of the organization.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist to the supervisor to prepare financial reports;
  • Necessary assistance to partners finance person.
  • Good understanding in the organization’s financial and HR & administrative policy and procedures.
  • To ensure proper documentation of any procurement.
  • Maintain Advance Register and bill register.
  • Petty cash handling, maintain the limit and reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge in tally software ERP 9 and voucher entry.
  • Maintain IOU register and make adjustments with financial policies;
  • Checking bill vouchers, tally entry and make payments;
  • Act as an authorized person for finance unit to collect signs from approval authority and banking;
  • Maintain periodically VAT/TAX deposits by treasure challan deducted at source;
  • All tax and VAT challan systematically filed and deliver to the respective party/person and govt. Excise duty office when needed;
  • Vouchers file;
  • Day-to-day finance-related activities;
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation of various accounts;
  • Prepare a monthly plan and submit the monthly accomplishment reports to the supervisor;
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
