19 July, 2022, a virtual meeting held between the Executive Director Sarder Jahangir Hossain and Ms. Farhana Patwary-a school teacher from NYC. Ms. Patwary plans to write a book on a “Fairytale about an acid attack victim”. She learned about ASF’s works from Google search engine.

A family from USA with their four kids visited ASF to learn about Acid Survivors Foundation. In the session ASF senior management team presented all the activities and situation about the organization. It was really encouraging that the kids saved money from their tiffin and donated to ASF as a token of love.

Mohammad Sadek (25 years old) was closing up his shop in Satkania, Chottogram for the night on the 29th of June 2022.

ASF lawyer had been in communication with the officer in-charge of Satkania Police Station. According to him, a case has been filed on the 5th of July.

On the night of the incident, 3-4 perpetrators approached her and doused her with acid as she was closing up the tea stall for the night. There was an issue about her father’s land between the family and the perpetrators.

She was initially at Barguna Sadar Hospital for treatment but the OC transferred her to Dhaka for higher treatment.

The family is in need of dire support ….

Reba Yasmin passed away on the 17th of June at 8 PM in Jhalokathi (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). She suffered from pulmonary edema which was associated with her acure kidney infection. ASF is saddened to hear about the loss of an individual who has done so much for the organization.

On the 9th of June, 35 years old Sorufa Brgum was attacked with acid at Doarabazar, Sunamganj, Burning her face, lips and different parts of her body. She is currently undergoing treatment at M.A.G Osmani Medical College and Hospital.

On 1st May 22, In Badda, Dhaka Kekha (25 years) was attacked with acid by goldsmith Shah Alam (40 years). She was subject to abuse for dowry and after marrying someone else, Alam stopped providing for her financially and eventually divorced her.
