Sarder Jahangir Hossain is the Executive Director of Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF). Prior to join ASF in November 2019, Mr. Hossain gathered over twenty-five years of senior management experience in national and international non-governmental organizations. Mr. Hossain has extension experience in managing multi-sectoral programs in both humanitarian and development contexts in Asia and Africa. He had over eleven years international work experience in strategic leadership roles. He worked in World Vision as the Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) to execute a USAID food security project/NABO JATRA in Bangladesh for three years. He led the consortium consisting of national and international organizations including WFP to run the USAID funded food security project in Bangladesh. He worked in Yemen as Country Representative for Première Urgence Internationale (PUI)-a French International NGO for a year. He worked in Afghanistan and South Sudan as Country Director for JOHANNITER-UNFALL-HILFE E.V- a German International NGO for over seven years. He also worked with BRAC in Bangladesh and BRAC International in Pakistan and Afghanistan in senior management positions for over thirteen years.  In his career history, he worked with the programs funded by multiple donors such as USAID, World Bank, DFID, BMZ, UNICEF, WFP and ECHO. He earned two Masters’ degrees in Health Management, Planning and Policy from University of Leeds, United Kingdom and in Demography from Dhaka University with outstanding academic achievements. For his outstanding professional accomplishments, he was awarded with certificates of appreciation by the York University Canada, German Embassy in Afghanistan and JOHANNITER-INTERNATIONAL ASSITANCE-Germany. Mr. Hossain was the immediate past president (IPP) of Rotary Club of Ananya Dhaka, District 3281 for 2020-2021.
