3 siblings are burn injured due to acid attack in Mymensingh

Three siblings, elder sister (23) brother (20) and younger sister (13) are injured in an incident of acid attack at Kalapagla village in Haluaghat upazial of Mymensingh district on 5th September, 2017 at Night. The elder sister is a worker of a garment and the brother is a student of Honors at Anonda Mohan College, Mymensingh and younger one is in student of class seven. The injured were admitted at first to the burn unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) . MMCH physician Limon Kumar Dhor said they are accordingly 15 percent, 19 per cent and one percent burn injuries. The victims’ mothers said her children came under the acid attack around 10:00pm when Al Amin one of their distant relatives called her elder daughter from outside the window, and threw acid on them. Mother alleged that Sohel got Al Amin carry out the attack. Sohel the former husband of her elder daughter created pressure to start with him afresh and her daughter refused on a number of reasons. Al Amin, Sohel and acid peddler Ujjal have been arrested in this connection, said assistant police superintendent of Haluaghat circle Md Alamgir. All the three patients are admitted in Acid Survivors Foundation Hospital on 10th September, 2017 for taking specialized treatment. Sabalabmy unnayan samity (SUS) a partner of ASF organized a human chain on 10th September, 2017 at Feroze Jehangir Chaartaar, Danginarpar, Mymensingh for demand justice on this acid attack.
